Do Canadian employers recognise NOC codes, or are they just something used by CIC?
For example, if a prospective employer asks - "What do you do?" - would they have any idea what NOC 2241 would mean if you introduced it somewhere into the interview, or would a simple 'butcher, baker, candlestick maker' answer work better?
It's just that the descriptions for the NOC codes seem quite accurate, so I wondered how widespread their usage is.

I don't think most people would have any idea what a NOC code is - what does it stand for? You might be better off using the written description, if it is particularly accurate in explaining what you do.
