Hi guys,
I'm going through the NNAS process
Having a problem understanding a question relating to 'Nursing Registration'. The question is,
'If the jurisdiction or country of your initial nursing program does not issue a license, does your diploma give you the right to practise?'
The options are 'yes' or 'No'.
Would be great if anyone going through the process can help me with this.
BTW I am fully aware that if the NMC don't issue a license/registration then I cannot practise, so have provisionally answered 'no', just feel I may be reading the question wrong.
Thanks in advance.

I read it that they mean by "If the jurisdiction or country of your initial nursing program does not issue a license, does your diploma give you the right to practise?" they are asking does the country where you originally/initally trained (i.e. UK / Scotland / Wales or where-ever) issue a diploma with a right to practice, not the Canada jurisdiction. So if you received a diploma where you originally trained, then the answer would be yes. I could be reading it totally wrong though!
Others will hopefully be able to let you know for certain.
These forms can be so confusing, especially when there are so many!

This is my issue, I can't decide if my interpretation or yours is the correct one!
Still got a lot of paperwork to complete and can edit my answers at any time before this.

So I'm going to disagree..
I think it's a mega confusing question, but the way I read it is that if you don't have registration with NMC or whoever does your diploma mean you can practice? Well the answer is No I feel, the education alone doesn't give you the right to practice, only education and licensing or registration with a regulatory board gives you the right to practice as a Nurse. Could be wrong though- can you try ringing them for clarification?
