Default A nice warm glass of ale...

Thought I'd post something a little different...

Does anybody know anywhere in Vancouver where I can get a nice warm flat glass of ale? CAMRA style... I've tried a few different 'ales' here, e.g. Granville Island stuff, but still find most of it is ice-cold fizzy piss... Will I ever find something or should I just get over it and become a Molson-boy?

If you think Granville Island ale is ice-cold fizzy piss, don't even go near the Molson sh*t (yeee-uck!).

I think a lot of pubs have to weigh the pros and cons of selling 'warm beer'. Eventhough I can appreciate warm beer as full of flavour, etc... as "a Canadian going to the pub for a beer" I still prefer my beer to be cold and that's probably true for most Canadians. So many places don't even bother with real ale -- you have to go to a good brewpub.

I don't get over to Vancouver very often but I've had a few good beers at Sailor Hagar's at Lonsdale Quay and I've heard from reputable sources that Steamworks is very good too - but I've not been there.

If you're ever in Victoria head for Spinnakers. http://www.spinnakers.com/
