A nice hotel/town you stayed in near Toronto?
We are looking for one night stay straight after the flight... We're ok to drive a bit (1 hour or 2 max)
Last time we stayed in Ajax, Mississauga South and then North...
We thougth about Kingston?
But wondered if some of you know of a really nice place, town, hotel to go to, we definitely love swimming (that's why I love the Super 8 motels, but the only problem with that is that in Ontario the regulations do not allow children of a certain height to go on the flumes)
We need something on budget too
We will be taking our time on our way to Fredericton (so heading towards Edmunston - we might as well as my husband just mention it re-visit La ville de Quebec), where we are going (to try to meet some of you) and to settle as a family

Try Cobourg, Port Hope, Brighton, Belleville. All east along the 401 and the 2

Back then, you could watch what was going on at the pool on a TV channel in your room. Not sure about the price.
If you are looking for places on a budget, you might want to go to priceline.com and bid on a hotel in Kingston...make an offer and see what comes back.
Kingston would be about a 2 3/4 - 3 hour drive east of Toronto Airport. Kingston also has a very lively downtown area and lots of nice shops/restaurants etc.

Here is a place I stayed in Kingston about 10 years ago at a conference.

Elora - really nice town. not sure of the places to stay around there. I've only heard of the elora mill. fantastic scenery - the gorge, nice shops and places to eat, and you can swim at the quarry

Well, yes. But there is taking your time and really taking your time. I'm sure Elora is very nice but it is a little off the route.
Oddly enough, I'm in email communication today with a bloke who lives in Elora. And he's a Brit.
