Default Niagara Tours?

We'll be in TO this weekend, and I'd like to book a day at Niagara.

I did a great one last year, got time at the falls, a trip on maid of the mist, winery tour, good guide giving commentary during the drive etc - and I paid $70. No idea where it was booked from though as my employer booked it (I was in TO on business).

Can anyone suggest a good company to go with? There are some that do lunch overlooking the falls etc for around $150 - but I've heard bad things about the buffets they take you to, so this is out of my interest, and my price range.

Looking for something in the $70 bracket. We can buy our own lunch!

Dunno about tours, but the food at the parks run restaurant (edgewater?) overlooking the american falls is OK as far as I remember, entres around $20. Its not really about the food anyway is it

I totally agree! That overpriced tour factored $70 for each person just for food!!!

Hey - there's one of the world's biggest waterfalls out there, one of the best sights on our planet - I don't want to spend the whole time with my head buried into a plate!

I've done Edgewater's for a couple of lunches. Nice to retire to if it's hot and a great view.

I thought it was very reasonably priced even before considering where it was and the view.

My sister and her husband used this company earlier this year. They were very happy with them:

They also get good reviews at:

$14.50 for a BLT with fried onions.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I haven't been to the restaurant but back in the 80's/90's Niagara Falls NY was a great place to test the limits of your liver.

And chips.

Is that a lot? I thought I was supposed to be the cheapskate here.

Garlic Cheese Bread with Bruschetta @ $6.99 is pretty normal isn't it?

Philly Chese steak, peppers, onions and chips $15.99

Yes..I believe you can hold the title of BE extreme couponer....I think that $14.50 is a lot for a glorified BLT...the garlic bread price is pretty standard but the Philly cheese price is a bit high.

Especially considering that Niagara Falls NY is a rather economically depressed place.

But that location, with tourists from around the globe, is not.

Compared to food at the top of the CN tower for example it looks decent value.

Its the location, not the food, that you are paying for.

Good idea!
Picnic at the Falls - got to be better than any over-priced, over-cooked plate of anything the cafes can hustle up.

I took the London Bus tour which includes the maid of the mist, walk behind the Falls, the gondola over the whirlpool and the botanical gardens. No food though, costs about $50
