Default A Newbies Introduction! SW Scotland to Calgary

Hello!

I'm used to putting an intro thread on forums when i register to them, but couldn't find a specific section for it on here

So anyway, my names Steven and I currently reside in the SW of Scotland

Been accepted for a job near Calgary, and I'm just waiting on further paperwork/VISA stuff coming through, so thought I'd introduce myself on here...

love the place so far, and found lots of helpful topics...I'm sure I'll have many more questions and hope to get to know you all a bit better over the coming months.

Rgds for now!

Hi Steven!

We are in the same boat as you - husband has got the job and are awaiting on an LMO. We are moving to Calgary too (providing the LMO comes through positive).

Welcome to the site

Being a good Ayr boy, I agree completely

Yeah, I had planned to! Been looking through a few real-estate sites and seeing whats available. I hate commuting long distances, so staying in Airdrie itself is probably the best option for me

I think Airdrie is a good 45 mins from city centre?? I might be wrong - someone will put me right if I am!

It's nowhere near ad far as that (depending upon where.in the city and when travelling) and Airdrie is pretty self contained and would most things that people would require.

Hi Steven

I am also originally from Ayr, as posted Airdrie has everything you would need so you should,t have much need to travel. I have have another friend from Ayr who has just been offered a position in Airdrie.

He currently working at GE are you in the same field?
