Default Newbie - looking to move to ON

Hi everyone,

New to the site after finally deciding to join after spending hours at work reading through other people's posts etc.!

My partner and I are desperate to move as soon as. We are soon submitting applications (once my passport renewal comes through!). We are both hard looking for jobs at the moment with the hope of one of us getting an offer to help speed the process up - I'm a PR/Marketing consultant and partner works in NHS/healthcare recruitment and HR.

Looking forward to getting to know some people on here and benefiting from the support of others!

Thanks
Alastair

hi,
my husband, myself and 2 kids are looking to move also asap. We have been looking into this for 5 years and now my husbands work is closing down, which he has been in for 16 years is the push we needed.
April last year we met up with a company called willis Brazolot, and they basically said we could be there within a year on a temp work visa, but we would have to fork out 8,000.00 pounds, which we are willing to pay if we got there quicker for the sake of our kids re schooling ext.
As it takes 41/2 years to go down the proper route.
Has anyone heard of or used this company, as we are looking for some feed back on this.
Does anyone have any other companies that they can recommend.
We would be grateful for some info as we dont want to through good money away.

Welcome! From one marketing consultant to another... although I'm now in an in-house rather than a consulting role. I moved over here 18 months ago on an intra-company transfer thus bypassing the whole job offer/LMO business, so I'm afraid I can't offer you any direct help on that front. I do know that there are various marketing-related roles in the appropriate categories in the SW lists, so your PR (that's permanent residency, not public relations ) application should be OK, but as you have rightly pointed out, the challenge lies in finding a job to come over on a WP in the shorter term! Check out http://www.the-cma.org/ and their recruitment portal http://www.marketing-jobs.ca/ if you haven't already...

Hi there

I know when we came out we did not use a company to bring us here. What proffession is your husband in? My hubby came out on holiday and made enquiries and was offered a job which seemed to quicken the process but that was a while ago hence not having to pay an agency.

You can be there within a year anyway, even if you do it yourself! Current visa processing times for a temporary work visa according to the CIC website are 80% within a month and something like 30% within a week! We're doing it ourselves and understand we should be there by the end of the year at the absolute latest. You go on a temporary work permit and then apply for PR once in the country - which is then fastracked because you are there and have employment. It's all very easy and straightforward and I certainly wouldn't pay £8,000 for someone else to do it for me! The company employing you will process most of the TWP paperwork anyway. Hope that helps, each to their own but that's my opinion.
