Hi everyone. I'm so glad I found this place. I currently live in Spain, though I was born in England and am moving to Toronto as soon as the sale on my place here goes through.
Thanks to a Canadian father my citizenship papers were processed really quick and without hassle. I'm so relieved to be leaving Europe, especially Spain and am looking forward to my next adventure.

Spain has a lot of merits. Low cost of living, great climate, but there isn't an awful lot to do, there's no employment and drinking cheap booze gets old after a while.
I really miss my old job in TV and Canada is great for the film and television industry. I think for me, being single and younger than a lot of people who moved here, I just really miss being in a place that isn't 20 years behind the rest of the world like Spain is.

Good luck with the interview Souls. I hope it's hassle free for you.
I've done some work with a producer in AZ, so if you do want any contacts, or info on what the industry is like there, let me know. What work do you do in Canada? I write and sub edit.

quite the traveller you are..
I have worked in around sales for about 12 yrs.. was in promotions for 5 yrs and and just working in commercial scheduling now, which was just a contract job to fill in the time..
was thinking maybe of looking at radio or newspaper as there are no tv stations where I am going (wayyyy south.. near mexico)
hope all works out for you when you get here.. you're right, there always seems to be jobs in the media so it shouldnt be too hard with your background.

Hiya - following on with the TV theme - hubby works in the mixing console trade, engineer/trouble shooter/technical manager that sort of thing. We'll be in the Manitoba area but have friends in Toronto, so will probably be heading over there at some point. We're moving up from Nashville, (USA) next March although we're Brit-expats and we spent some time in Switzerland a few years ago too. One mad day in Switzerland we decided to drive down to the south coast of Portugal driving through Spain at a huge rate of knots and it took 22 hours in total - got there just in time for our Spanish friends to let us in their Portuguese bar for a quick drink! We really miss not being so close to Europe now and miss our visits to Portugal but Canada is certainly a beautiful place and well worth experiencing I reckon - maybe see you there!
