Hi everyone Ive been reading a lot about what youve been saying about moving to Canada. Im looking to emigrate from Northern Ireland and going over to try out - got a house here - is it wise to try out first before selling up here? Am planning on sending money home for my mortgage and after reading everything would I be able to afford to do that on the wages out there?

hi dave
and welcome to BE

It would give us a better idea if we knew what your job was and where you where heading

Everyone does the move different, what suits one, doesnt suit the other

oh sorry

Im a class 1 driver with a local company but i have only had it one year and i know that this will be a problem. in the meantime i am doing research so do you have to have it 2 years or can I apply in the interim? Not sure how it works. Appreciate your advice here.

Not sure which state is best to go to for work like this - what would you suggest?

Hi,

Sorry can't answer. Just wanted to say hi, and have you seen the forums 'working by profession' and also on this Canada forum the 'truckers' sub forum too it might help to post on the main canada section too...

Good luck,

Hi Dave...we are also leaving the beloved shores of NI and heading to Saskatchewan in Canada. We are waiting for our LMO which is permission for my husband to be employed and then to get our Work Permit.
The firm YANKE has drivers in Saskatchewan and Alberta, also seem to be the two most popular provinces for Drivers.

Ask away on the other forums for more speific questions and you will get better responses than Meet and Greet
