Just thought I'd write, as I am lurking to.

I am currently just trying to look into the pro's (and cons if there are any) of moving from the UK to Canada, and really trying to Gel up.

I've got 101 questions no doubt, but any pointers to other useful sites also welcome.

My partner and I have returned to the UK from getting married in Alberta, (Vancouver/Banff/Emerald Lake) and all the surrounding areas, we covered an extra 7000km in the hire care....

I'm researching throughly into what sort of skills and qualifications Canada wants etc so any help always welcome.

Depends very much where you plan to settle. My wife and I came to Calgary on Feb 5th and both found decent jobs after 3 weeks, I'm an architectural technologist and my wife is an accountant. These disciplines seem to be in demand in Calgary at the moment - economy is booming here.

Wecome to the site PF, and congratulations on the wedding. We are new here too.

We aren't looking to just up and move, we need to pay off some mortgage first, but I'm really trying to gage pros and cons and research at the moment, kind of a personal business plan.

Trying to find out about e.g. we have NHS, pensions, etc.

We thought Calgary is the closest we could get to the mountains, as the rest seemed to be all tourism industry, only obviously from what we saw, sorry if it may be wrong.
