Hi there
We've just moved to Halifax (June) and so far things seem to be working out. Just wondering if there is an expat group here and if so, how do I join. Would love to meet up with anyone in a similar situation.
Many thanks.

Why hello there...there are a smallish group of us ladies who meet up (or at least try to) once a month for a drink and a laugh. Whereabouts in Halifax are you?

Hi
how did you find job hunting in Halifax - I only ask as we've just been told to submit our passports for the visas and we're looking at moving to Halifax, have you settled in well and easily? Where abouts have you moved to in halifax - oh so many questions?

Hi Nikki, I've just read your blog. How are things going now. The weather will be a bit cold at the moment. You have a lot of blogging to catch up on, so stop enjoying yourself and get typing.

Hi again
Thanks for replying.
We live just off Quinpool, in the South end. really like the neighbourhood and there are lots of kids around.
Regarding the move, my husband managed to find a job he likes relatively quickly which was lucky for us as I think our experience would have been totally different had he not. A lot of his friends here were quite surprised that he managed to find one so quickly so I get the impression that jobs are few and far between.
I don't work as we have three children so for now I am a stay-at-home mum which can make it a bit difficult to meet new people but I've made some friends at my son's school which has been great.
Generally we have found Halifax a great place to live-easy to get around, friendly, comparitively safe and welcoming. I can't drive ( I'm learning) so I was a bit worried that I would find myself stranded but so far this hasn't been a real problem.
So...so far so good!
I'd love to meet up with anyone who is in the Halifax area-a drink sounds good. If anyone is moving to Halifax in the near future and you need anyhelp with anything, give me a shout-I'd me more than happy to help out.
Thanks
