we are new and are in the final process of immigrating to calgary. OH is an electrican and has a job waiting, I work with children with special needs here in blighty and will be looking to do something simular in Calgary. Reaching out to anyone for top tips!
stinky is also wondering if anyone has any informaton on requiring an 'on site guide for electricians' (Canadian equivalent)

I guys well done We're in the same position but going to Vancouver. I picked a code book from one of the collages in vancouver last year only took a week to arrive it's the size of our yellow pages though. it's called Electrical codes simplifed for commercial & industrial by ps knight go to www.psknight.com. though i must admit i haven't really looked at it since ( I'd better get on with it ) It looks just the same as our 16th edition as regs go your OH will have to get what they call a red seal licence this i'm told can only be done after working 9000man Hrs. When do you think you'll finally get the nod to move? We've just completed our medicals ( what a rip off ) £600 for 4 of us for what they done we could've went to Boots LOL. Still going out on the 9th April for a research trip trying to find the right neighbourhood and school for my kids. House goes on the maket end of Feb let me know how you get on regards chaz

Welcome to BE
If you don't mind me asking who is OH going to start working for in Calgary?
The company I work for has about 20 Brits, 3 Germans & 1 Swiss on the books now and a PLMO for 50 in total.

I am not sure if this site will be of any help to you, but it might be worth investigating further.

If no joy, would you be kind enough to send me the cd, as bro has many ways of unlocking discs. I'll send it back to you.
Many thanks
