Hi guys
we are waiting for our house sale to be completed, which it is hopefully going to happen in the next couple of weeks. However I have already cancelled my internet account, which means I need cover for the last few days.
Is there a way of opening an account without commiting to a contract? If so, can anybody point me in the right direccion? and also, once i have cancelled my account, will my email address still be valid or do I have to change it to something like hotmail or yahoo?
Thanks for your input.

People have been prosecuted for this, so I wouldn't do it without getting permission from the owner. If your phone line is still going to be active, you could always just use a pay-as-you-go dial up account. It'll be slow, so you may want to be careful about which sites you visit.

Best code of practise, secure your internet connection
Plus check out your libary, they normally offer a free service etc

Yes we are using wireless. My husband has all the relevant blocks installed so no one else can use. When we were staying at my cousins for a while we wouldnt use her wireless connection for any financial business as we had the choice of quite a few neighbours connections!!! She couldnt understand why we went elsewhere on occasions to get a secure link.

I was using the free dialup from www.uk2.net after I cancelled the broadband before I left. Obviously much slower, but good enough to download email and check the odd web page.
