I would like to update the file which I submitted for PR process in buffalo in April. Do you have any idea how can I update my file.

Is it true for software engg, they don't need a employment offer with out HRDC approval.

What you mean by "update the file"? If it is sending additional documents and
you already have a file number then just submit them with the reference to your
file number.

If you are talking about offer of employment to use as "Arranged Employment"
for your PR application then it must have HRDC opinion. If it is a job offer
for work permit and it fits criteria of one of 7 occupations included in pilot
project for software professionals then it doesn't need validation, although
visa post will ask HRDC for the opinion to verify legitimacy of the offer and
other factors anyway.
