Default Mr miller please help me re children

hi mr miller

this is a question thats been on the back of my mind if for example someone went out to canada on a work visa and became pregnant what is the procedure for this,

A) do they have to return to there country straight away

b) would they have the baby in canada and the baby would have dual citizenship for example if the babys parents were english

C) would the parents be able to reside in canada because there baby was canadian but they were english

i am very confused please help me with this so i can at least put my mind to rest

thanks

they can stay as long as their visas allow them to stay.

The baby would be a Canadian Citizen by birth and then if the parents were
from the UK the baby would also be a UK Citizen by right of birth, you
should then take the birth certificate to the British Embassy and register
the birth.

The parents would have no status implied by the fact their child was a
Canadian Citizen. Obviously the child could remain there indefinatley but
the parents are still bound by their original visas. So when the work visas
ran out they would have to return to the UK and would of course (i hope
hehe) take their child with them.
The child couldnt sponsor them until they were over 18 and met LICO so
really thats irrelevant. Im not sure but it seems possible if you then
applied for skilled worker class PR that you may get 5 pointsin adaptability
because you have a Canadian relative ie your child, not sureif that counts
cos yoru child can hardly help you settle into Canada.
Bascialy the child would be one who grows up in the UK and then at some
point decides they want to go live in Canada and posts a question on here
saying "i was born in Canada but came back to the UK as a baby but still
have Canadian Citizenship can i just move back and work?"
so having the baby in Canada doesnt really benefit you but benefits the
child in that they then have that oppertunity when they are older to live
and work in a diferent country if they choose.
also if you do later apply for PR you would not have to pay any
fees/medicals etc for yoru child as they are already a Canadian Citizen.

a. no

b. yes and yes, anyone born in canada is a canadian citizen, and optionally the citizen of the country of the parents as well provided that country permits dual citizenship..

c. no, even though the child is a canadian citizen, that will not give the parents any rights to remain in canada without a valid status, if they want to become permanent residents, they have to apply for it, and go through the same process as everyone else... the only advantage of having a child born in canada, is you get points for having a family member who is a canadian citizen...
