He is talking about me and our beer discussion earlier in the thread. I do drink wine too, and gin, whisky, mead - pretty much anything really. When I am not hosting beer sessions with random expats I am a Realtor who works in Oakville and Burlington.

not to throw a spanner in the works but just wondered as noones mentioned the other side of town ie Allenby York Don Mills etc
is this because they are totally out of reach unless your a millionaire (deer park wow)

Those aren't comparable places to Oakville or Burlington. They're original suburbs like, say, Harrow, while Oakville and Burlington are commuter towns, like Milton Keynes. The older suburbs include Leaside, High Park, Beach and then spreading out, Don Mills, Scarborough, Etobicoke. I wouldn't think a commuter town person would look at an urban area or vice-versa; I don't think it's about price so much as personal taste.

where's the best places in oakville that's accessible to amenities and the go station please ?????
I have a lovely realtor but I don't want to keep bothering her
I know the commute from oakville is around 40ins but only from some of the areas and getting myself confused
dundas and sixth line is a long commute but still oakville
bronte is a longish commute but still oakville
westmount is a huge commute but still oakville 🙄🙄

If you can't be somewhere closer to the city (High Park and Cabbagetown were a couple I saw mentioned), then I agree with those who said to try to be within striking distance of a GO train. Toronto traffic can be truly HORRENDOUS. It's a long time since I lived in Toronto but I go back often (have been there twice in just the last month) and just thinking what the traffic might be like as I approach the city literally scares me. Especially so in the winter.

My Toronto story, for what it's worth, starts off living at Yonge/Eglinton (great area) without kids and eventually moving to the Heart Lake area of Brampton when our 2nd child was about to be born. I never worked downtown although my wife did - it was always either Downsview by TTC or Mississauga by car for me. Brampton was just another fairly soulless Toronto suburb like many others. The attraction of Toronto for me was always being close to or in the city - surviving without a car by using the TTC or a bike. Once we moved to Brampton it was the beginning of the end for us and we ended up moving away. Living in Brampton and commuting to Mississauga somehow wasn't as much fun as living at Yonge/Eglinton - go figure. So live as close to the action as you can afford - unless a soulless outer suburb and a long commute is right up your alley.
