Default Moving to toronto, first steps?

Hi,

Me and my girlfriend (23 & 24) are thinking about moving to canada. We both have masters degrees. I am a software developer and she is an electrical engineer.

As a software developer there are some is fantastic jobs in Toronto and loads of engineering prospects.. so we are both really interested in possibly moving out there in around a year.

I have been looking at visas etc.. but cant find much information. I see there is a "working holiday" visa for a year. Would this be a good way to get into the country and then get sponsored for a longer stay? Or are there other/better avenues. How have other people moved over there? Any advice would be amazing!

Thanks so much,

Ben

Toronto is not in "the States".

So you're not planning on moving to the US anymore? I think several people in the US forums have responses to your thread there, so it would be good 'netiquette' to let them know that so nobody else takes time to give you answers you no longer need.

As for Canada, the WHV is going to be far and away your quickest/easiest route over. Have a look at the Wiki for info on all of the various visa routes, including those you could try and use to stay longer term.

Best of luck.
