Having just escaped the concrete jungle that is Mississauga/Brampton I can honestly say don't do it!

I kinda like Georgetown. It's quaint and villagy. Orangeville is lovely too. But whatever you do, rent first. That way you don't incur tons of costs if you chose to sell again.

So far this has been a properly rural evening. Hoof tending to resume on the morrow.

Thanks. Now I have a better idea
I have played on a pitch with a huge branch overhanging the edge though.

We spent an hour and a half trying to attach the backhoe to the tractor, not helped by over pressurized hydraulics. If I have to see another smug git on YouTube explain how simple it is, I shall throw my computer out the window. Eventually gave up in disgust (and borderline carbon monoxide poisoning as its in the barn and you have to run the tractor to use the hydraulics) then went back half an hour later and fixed the thing in an even shorter time than the smug git on YouTube. Then remembered that to use the backhoe the front loader has to be attached too, managed that a bit quicker.
Then unloaded 16 2x2 ft concrete slabs out of the truck, in rather a hurry after we realized that our accountant son had miscalculated the payload. All of this with my phone in my pocket as I have a clients house sale closing today and if it's going to go wrong it does it at the last minute and its best not to ignore calls from stressed lawyers.
I am heading for the gin bottle. Are you sure you want rural OP?

Ahem, did I not say to you something like, "attaching attachments is a bitch, it's them pipes"? I'm not saying I told you so, just that it had previously been my experience. Now I won't detach the bucket for love nor money, even though this is another tractor of another brand than the one on which I simply could not reattach and had to call the dealer. A dealer who sneered and belittled and was insufferable; one of my children suggested that, for me, it was a feminist moment.

I suppose it would be helpful to know what the OP wants from a rural location, probably not a chance to struggle with hydraulics.

I have, btw, twice thrown my computer out of the window. Once in Los Gatos, two stories on to grass, when I calmed it worked again. Once from somewhere high up with opening windows, so an older place, perhaps a Ramada, it landed on asphalt and disintegrated. That was quite pleasing but nothing like the joy of throwing a mobile phone into the ocean with the complainant still bleating on it.

Blimey, this is like an episode of the Archers- dbd is Ed Grundy and HGerchikov is Ruth Archer.

I never got in to the Archers. I remember my family being in to it when we would go to England on a visit. Is it still on?

I've never heard the Archers but if Ed is like Bill I'm more akin to his antagonist.

You did say about the attachments, it's true. However we needed to attach the bush hog and you have to take the backhoe off for that. If it was up to me I would leave the bucket on too, unfortunately others have a different viewpoint.

Also spent a fair amount of time duck wrangling as we have one confined to barracks due to a bad leg and she is not happy about it.

Maybe for the OP a small village location might work. Perhaps, as has been suggested, Erin. I really like Fergus but I don't think 45 mins to Mississauga is anything like an option from there.

I like Fergus well enough, we can get there entirely on dirt roads lined with horse properties, a trip with a properly rural feel. I imagine the Scottish Festival is rather fun and the famous truck show used to be. It's a shame the pub on the river is so poor, the Goofie Newfie is a way better bar but without the location. Fergus though is being subdivisioned, horrible estates now ring it.

The Grundys are the ne'r do well the working class family whose incompetent escapades amuse the middle class Archer family. Carrie Grundy, Eddie's wife, is a hardworking soul much put upon by her feckless husband and father in law,

I have heard it for years so they might all be dead now and/or lottery millionaires frittering away their money on cider and vulgar cars.
