Ontario is over 1 million square kilometers - several times larger than England. The northern reaches have very harsh winters, most of the population in in the south. We need a bit more information about what you like and don't like, what job you will be seeking, etc. before any recommendations will make sense.

How about you practice what you preach? Everyone is entitled to their opinion, you and everyone else. Why rubbish what other people have to say about places? That is their opinion based upon their experience, just as valid as yours.
No one is warning anyone away from anywhere. People come onto this board all the time and ask about the "good" areas of such and such a place. People pipe up with their 2 cents. No one is told "don't move there, I demand you to listen to me". Quite frankly, if anyone makes an emmigration decision based upon a load of strangers on the internet then they need their head examined.
No one is judging any place based on teeth, hair or any personal appendage. The opinion on the table is that Barrie has a large amount of people who wander around with minimal teeth and maximum mullet. Why can't you accept that this is one person's experience and that they are just as entitled to express that as you are?

Speaking of which, I know Guelph rather well. I don't know if it's typical of cities of that size but would guess that it is as Kitchener seems similar, it has a large homeless population and, based on the lack of teeth of the many bums in an around the central square, I'd say that meth is the local drug of choice.

I think it is fair to say (oh god ireland2canada please don't bite me head of for this one) that most places be it towns or cities have drug and homeless issues.

I don't think amphetamines cause gum recession, I believe that's characteristic of crystal meth. It is, however, a fair point that dental care is something few people in small town Canada can afford.

Which makes the condition of the local's teeth a good indicator of general levels of wealth/poverty and therefore worth mentioning.

Indeed. I only became aware of my obsession with molars earlier in this thread but now I see why I'm so fixated. I do wonder though if I confuse teeth loss through poverty with simply being an immigrant from England.

I think that you may need to go back and read my post again. I did not "rubbish what you are saying", quite the opposite. Not for want of repetition, your opinion is just as valid as everyone else's. If anyone is rubbishing anyone else around here, in my opinion, it is you.
You seem to like to single people out, name their names in your posts and attribute attitudes to them that do not exist, making little jibes at people. I find that quite unpleasant. I find it hard to believe that you really felt that I "bit your head off". I reject that entirely.
I would get this back on track by suggesting some places to live in Ontario, but the place is massive. Thunder Bay?

Well, they could have actually lost their teeth from amphetamine useage too? or maybe from the expense of dental work was unafordable to them.

This is my theory.
Canadians think Britons have bad teeth.
There are many Canadian mouths with rotten teeth and or dentures.
Canadians therefore think that British teeth are in a worse state than they really are.
