Thanks for all your replies, we both work in IT so we are realistically looking at Halifax for jobs. We have an idea of areas we would like to live in, based on previous visits and school catchment areas, but no final decisions yet.

Hi All
We too are going to Nova scotia we had our meds on Tuesday so things are moving on at last.:D With any luck if the house sells it should be around August.
We would love to live in Chester but being realistic it probably be somewhere on the outskirts of Halifax for employment prepossess.

Hi there, what sector of IT are you in? My OH (Sean) is in IT support (hardware) and we're also considering NS if we can get a job offer :-)

Good luck to yourselves anyway!

Anita :-)

Wow all you guys! looking to come to Nova Scotia. I wish you all the very best with your plans. It is worth all the effort involved. :D
We have been here nearly 3 years now and love it more than ever. We have just met a family that have been coming to the North Shore for over 10 years. They have now emigrated from Germany and have been here 2 weeks and are still unpacking. Their daughter sits next to ours in class and they have just found out that they are both horse mad. The family have acquired some horses already, so the girls went to see them. All the family is so excited that they are here and they feel like we do that anything is possible in Nova Scotia.

We are both in software development rather than hardware. I am a PM and OH is an analyst/developer. Financial/Banking/Healthcare are the business sectors we have worked in. Hoping skills are transferrable. Good luck with your job hunting.

Welcome to NS!! When you get here of course. I cant beleive the amount of new people coming, it really has to be the growth area of Canada - as it should be!! We have been here since January, with 3 children, and we love it. Like Paradise said, everything seems possible here!

Good choice!

5 parrots....how interesting? How do they travel. It seems along way on a plane for them. What a lovely time of year to be moving to the Valley, you may catch the Apple Blossom Festival if you are early enough but if not the blossoms will still be on the trees so it will be nice to see. Where abouts are you going?

Hey,
i like open spaces were you can walk for hours without meeting anyone :)
But Nunavut ? By the looks of it you could walk for months and not meet anyone:confused:
It is the size of Western Europe with an pop of about 29,474,plenty of room for the free spirited

No thanks i will stick with the densley populated Atlantic Provinces :p

Re: Moving to Nova Scotia

Corky,

The parrots are all travelling cargo - nightmare to sort out their paperwork, we were easy to get visa's for in comparison!

We are over beginning of May to have our house passed for quarantine, then we land 26th June. I CAN'T WAIT !!!!

Perhaps we will have to all have a meet up in a few months, we'll have to hire out a hall at this rate
