[FONT=Comic Sans MS]Hi Ian & Fiona, Schan, & Citizen

Thanks for all your replies I'm Annmarie & hubby is Steve, we've bought a new house that's being built by Beaverhall on Thompson Rd, our completion date is 31st Oct but the sale on this house in the UK isn't until a few days before so I'm panicking how I can get the money to the builder on time. Ive spoken to my bank's and they all say it takes 6 days to get the money to Canada by SWIFT ......
How did you all do it ? Ive noticed a few companies advertising on this site but you just dont know who to trust if they're not know to you.

Also I'm looking for a decent insurance comp as I have to prove to the Lawyer and Builder that the house is insured for the completion date.

Did anyone use removals and how long did they take ? we're looking at a local one called Brittania Fleet they have quoted £3500.00 for a 20ft container and it takes 8-10 wks door to door

Ian & Fiona ( not sure how old Lawrence is ) but have you any idea's what the nursery's are like in Milton ?? rate's etc. I have 7 mth old twins and although they are a pure delight I'm looking forward to going back to work part time for some normal conversation !!!!!!!!

Thanks guys any help is very appreciated

Hi,
We will be in Oakville just down the road.
We transferred out money through Lloyds as that was who we banked with in the UK. It only took 2 days to show in our account here but it did take 3 days to get to Lloyds from our solicitors!!!!

We used a local company to ship our goods and they have quoted 14 days at sea (Kent to Montreal), allow 5 days to get from Montreal to Toronto and then however long it takes for customs to decide to clear it! We move into our house 31st August so it is on its way. Will let you know hw long it takes!

Finally, my husband is a scouser from Litherland / Bootle - how about you?

if you play football, go to the coach and four on sunday lunch, a fella named paul(scouser) runs a team from there, they play at 11 and then to the pub for refreshments

Hi, my husband is also from Bootle - small world hey !
I might speak to Lloyds then and ask if they can trans the funds any quicker for me, its a nightmare all this isnt it. Did you get a better rate than the normal customer rate ?
Our house is due to be finished 31st Oct but what's the bets its delayed... and we will be arriving that day so ill probably end up sleeping on blow up beds. Ive just found out that one of our neighbours is from Reading !!!! all that way and you end up living next door to someone from England - I suppose it will be nice really as we will have things in common and can help eachother out with stuff.
Are you already in Canada now ?

Annmarie

Hi,
Yes we arrived here 7 weeks ago today. We are in a rented appt at the moment in Mississauga and desperate to get our own house and our stuff back! Incidentally, I come from just outside Reading!!!

Almost everyone that I have met so far has been British ........ there is a rumour that my new neighbour may also be English. Pleased to say that I met a Canadian family last week though.
Hope all your packing is going well,
Tara

Nice one mate,

Had a drive around and what we saw looked a pretty tidy area wouldn't mind checking the housing out in more detail soon.

Daft question but when does the season run ??

the season runs all year, indoor and outdoor leagues, the indoor is in the dome just east of 3rd line on north service rd.

the houses in bronte are inexpensive for oakville but go east to coronation park and they tend to be higher priced...further east towards town theres a big variance, then east of town......boom prices ans taxes go through the roof :scared:
