Had to look that one up to see where it was! No doubt you have this as a resource but just in case...

That's great...
Thanks for the info, but we were really hoping for some real life experiences in the town(city) of Kanata.
Any information, especially schooling would be fantastic.
Cheers

1) I was going to say I knew this wasn't what you wanted but that I hoped someone more local would be along in due course and
2) I was going to suggest you repost this in the main forum as not everyone frequents the Meet & Greet where this currently sits.
By the way, well done selling the house. No mean feat in the current market.
Kind regards,
Eamonn & Janet.

Kanata was on our shortlist of places based on research and web stuff. it is supposed to be a designed community, and a really nice place to live. When we actually went there i found it had some nice neighbourhoods and houses, but as a community and "town" was completely soulless. Coming from Uk there was no centre, you have to drive everywhere and featureless. We fell in love with Kingston instead. I am not sure what your motivation is to live there, but my advice is check it out. After a week there (Aug 07) we could not find a good reason to move there as opposed to any another typical North American suburb/stripmall development. This may be a personal thing, we came for "quality of life" more than anything and had good equity to support our choice.
In summary i found it "heartless" and lacking focus. If you can, try it out before you commit. If the draw is Ottawa, then we found Stone Mills to the south much nicer, worth a look?

Everyone
We really appreciate this information, it's great. It's a very exciting!
Thanks for all of your comments. I saw Kingston in a mazine, looks nice.
However, it's the job that will now control where I live, just need to get one now
Cheers, keep it coming!
