Post moving costs?

Hi again
I've thought of another question already. Has anyone transported your furniture over to Canada from UK? If so could you let me have an approximate cost from UK to Ontario. We can't decide whether to take everyone or use the move as a good excuse to ditch everything and buy new?
Any advice?

Our quotes for contents of a 4 bed house (fits in a 20ft container) packed and unpacked all came to between £5400 and £6000, from Somerset to the West Coast of Canada.

That figure has been flying around here for a while, I'll say it sounds about right, see if you can haggle it down. I hope that is door-to-door though, if its not, don't do it !

Yes, it's door to door, packed & unpacked. Cheapest we could get with a reputable shipper.
