My daughter had a student loan, which she would not have to pay anything back on until she was earning over £15,000 per annum, but the interest was accumulating on it all ready and rather than worry about them catching up with her in Canada several years later I paid it off for her. We would have had to inform them we were leaving the country and they may have asked for it to be paid in full anyway, one less thing to worry about!!!!
