Hi Jetset,
Good luck with the move. We're also off to Calgary soon (though not as soon as you!). I'm sure you'll love it.

Congrats to you both. I am a former Calgarian, having lived there for about 9 years. Great city! We like to drink beer and have fun. And some work thrown in for good luck. If either of you have any questions, feel free to ask!
My British hubby and I will be moving back in September; not to Calgary but rather to a small village an hour's drive NE of Calgary. Settling in the country, etc., etc.
BTW, my birthday is May 2 and I turn 40 this year. So it's a very auspicious day for you to be moving!!

Given that you'll have to hit the ground running, it may help you to read the Wiki article called Arrival To Do List-Canada (if you haven't stumbled on it already).
When you get a chance (which probably will be somewhat later), there are Wiki articles about Alberta and Calgary in the Alberta Lifestyle section.
Good luck with everything.

You'll love Calgary. I live an hour north of there, and try to get there as often as I can. Less than an hours drive and you're deep in the mountains too!

Supposed to be nice in Calgary tomorrow, Jetset. 15°C and partly cloudy. You should have a nice view of the mountains as you land.
Have a great flight.
