Default Moved: Immigrating with pets!

Hey,

Just wondered if anyone had experience/advice of moving out to Canada with pets in terms of cost, quarantine (I believe non) etc.

Currently we just have a cat but we have also talked about getting a dog in the future so info about either or both is much appreciated.

Thanks!

why not wait to get your dog until after you've moved....transporting animals can be quite traumatic for them, save on the travel cost also.

Been done by loads here, costs will have changed but if you search thru the site you'll find 99.9% of them arrive safe and with and problems what so ever. Have fun and enjoy the journey.

We took a cat cost 550 GBP and when landed cost $95 to clear at airport, i agree wait till you come over to get a dog, plus allow 6 weeks to get the rabbis shots before you come

Did they explain the fee? They list on their website 30 CAD for a rabies-vaccinated cat and 55 CAD for an unvaccinated one. Just wondering why it cost more for you?

Thanks for all the replies! I will be holding off on the dog front but my cat will definately be coming. My only concern is that I believe whilst there is no quarantine issue going to Canada, there would be one if we came back for a period?

Cheers

Not if you got a pet passport. For an extra £30ish for the rabies blood test you'll get the passport.
