At the moment your government pension will be frozen from the day you leave and NOT be indexed linked :frown:
We are not sure if we should keep paying minimum NI contributions or not. What are the pros and cons  |

can t say, as i m already retired . my cousin has been in toronto for 49 yrs and he retired this year and he says that he still can claim a portion of what he paid in before he emmigrated from his british state pension.
My aunt has been in Canada for 30 years and has applied to claim a UK pension. Just tell him to write to Newcastle upon tyne with his National Insurance number or if he doesnt know that where and when he worked in the UK last and paid contributions and the Pensions service will be able to trace his contributions. cheers gaynor. when you recieve your stuff in ca , do you pay british tax on your private pensions or canada taxes.also wich is the best way to move your money from the uk
The UK cannot tax you on it as if you are living in Canada you are classed as Non Resident through the UK tax system. However, you would have to declare this income on your Canadian Taxes and then it would be taxed as Foreign Income by the Tax people. Not too sure what you mean about moving money if you want to elaborate Gaynor x |
