Default Moved: Footy on TV?

My OH is concerned about the very important subject of footy. Can we get it on TV in Canada - are there any other international sports available?
I'm not too bothered but it is quite important to some people? any footy fans out there?

Yep

TSN and fOX I think - do a forum search as this has been covered many times and you might come up with some more information

If you have a pc, you can watch online streaming of live matches. Programs like sopcast and others have a guide to look at.

The rota for soccer games rotates with say Man U and Liverpool, chelsea showing more often, but teams further down the table are shown on a less regular basis. As mentioned FOX sports and TSN show live games. Champions league games are covered but it may be hard to pin down the England international games except for the actual competitions themselves.

If you are a passionate fan of one particular club, cities have suppoters group who join on match days and watch the games from a bar or a pub. Subscription to join the group is usually asked but it's not that much and if its a specialist pay per view channel the games are screened on, it will pay for itself. When I eventually live in Toronto, I found they have a Liverpool supporters club for instance.

There is lots of Football on TV in Canada and they are also allowed to show games that are not shown in the UK such as 3pm kick offs(UK time) on a Saturday.

You just have to get used to getting up at 7:30am to watch some games with big hangovers

Otherwise the coverage is very good.

How many more bleedin "do they have football/soccer in Canada on the telly" threads on this forum do we want!

Below are links to just a recent few when I did a search and there's another 95 more pages of threads on the same subject left to look through (thru)!!

At his rate of immigrant interest soccer will be the national sport by 2015!
