We looked at this as both have bikes but a realtor informed us when over on a visit that they have to be over a certain age other wise you cannot bring them across.
We both have quite new sports bikes so selling them. I cant remember exact age but he had people who he was trying to help find a house very upset as had been told they could bring them over and then because one year too young they are now being held in customs for a year and they have to pay the costs!
This was for BC so maybe check with which province you are going to.

Unless the bike is over 15 years old you can't import it. We were told before we left the UK by some Canadian bikers that the cost of importing (unless a classic model) isn't worth it as bikes are cheaper here.
I was just saying to hubbie last night how much I'm missing my bike! I rode every day in the UK and I probably won't ride a bike over here for a long time as we live in an area where winter lasts longer than summer and the bike would spend more time in the garage than on the road!
Its also worth pointing out that you'll have to redo your bike test here - there is no reciprocal agreement between Canada and the UK for bike licences, only for cars (in some provinces).

I have seen some strange sights i tell you
Gave up my Ducati when we came over, only took like a hundred years to get one, now all I see is Harleys and Honda's, a Harley I could live with. Kind of thinking a snowmobile might be fun though....

Yeah I think a snowmobile too, and you can pick them up cheap. I don't really fancy being on a bike and getting T-boned by one of those massive logging trucks.

Is there any race tracks anyone can tell me about, i used to race bikes in England up until 2004, and still have a fully race prepped RGV250 sat in the garage, as it means so much to me, i'd love to bring it with me and have a run out on it on trackdays, if such things exist in Canada.
Oh and by the way, Hello this is my first post, after many months of just reading everyone elses rantings, trust a chance topic on bikes to get me to sign up...lol
