Not in all cases. Still 10 years for my parents
Why still 10 yrs? Unless their application was started before the new rules came in? My parents are sponsored for ten years as they landed in 2003, but their application was started in 2002 however. Everyone else I know is just three years. Bummer.:(

I can't from the site, having now loooked at it - but on the letter I got from London CHC it states that if my sponsorship undertaking was started before the new rules are effective, I must sponsor for ten years, otherwise the new three year limit may apply. Very odd! Maybe this was a generic letter, but I do know my neighbours parents coming in from the Ukraine only have a three year limit. They are opening a business, however, so maybe that has something to do with it. Seems dreadfully unfair, and I cannot see what the difference is. After all, most parents (like mine) are retired, medical is covered, and they won't be on welfare...it is an onerous responsibility and stops you from sponsoring other family members unless you are loaded! Hope that clarifies things for you (even though I am now completely confused).
