Hi Keelie
Thanks for the interesting post. I did postgrad in Canada and am considering a permanent move to Australia. I'd be very grateful if you'd elaborate on why you think Canada's got it good compared to Australia? Not disagreeing, just very interested in your perspective. I can think of higher hourse prices in Oz (though Vancouver may compare). I'm sure there are other factors.
Thanks

Goodness, Dingbat, you sound quite disillusioned with 'Beautiful B.C.'
One of my kids lives in Vancouver...and you wouldn't get him back to Alberta for anything...except maybe a really really high paying executive position in his field.
I love B.C. especially Van.Island, the best-kept secret in the world .
We'll probably retire somewhere in B.C ... one day soon I hope.
So the trick is ..be a working stiff in Alberta, suffer our long cold winters, save your money, and reward yourself in the 'golden years' (yuck)
with a nice little house and boat in B.C.
Out of interest, why are you still in B.C. if you are so unhappy with things as they are?
Have you thought of moving elsewhere....are you one of the people who are returning to the U.K.?
Listen, we've just recently returned from Australia.. and I can tell you we've got it very good here.
Keelie.
