It doesn't answer the question, but, after the fact, I was told last year by a guy who swore by it, was to carry a bottle of ordinary meat tenderisor and to rub a bit on a mozzi bite. He swears it will greatly reduce the swelling and itching. I will give it a try this year as we are bound to have a mozzi or two million.

I read in my Canada book, tha two week before you go you can take triple the dose of vitamin b compex and this will reduce mozzy/blackfly bites by around 75% and also i recommended a variant on that deet. I guess it makes you less tasty to them :D

I've been looking on this website about DEET and various other insect repellents, but I think a visit to the Doctors for a jab before she goes is on the cards :scared:
