Default mortgage protection

Heh, a couple of our friends in the UK bought a house and now one of them has been made redundant, despite being with her company 10 years. (They didnt have redundancy cover)

Now, this got me thinking, so I checked out our documents and noticed that we dont have redundancy cover, but when I asked about it with TD, they said they have no idea what Im talking about.

Does anyone here have that kind of insurance, and if so, where did they get it.

Thanks

I have never heard of this insurance in Canada. You might want to ask an insurance broker, but non of the banks I checked offer this.

I had this form of coverage when I first took-out my mortgage in 2000. However, it was dropped by my financial institution two years later; there was just not enough interest in this product. Perhaps another "poster" can give us some advice as to how/where we can obtain this?

Only available in BC looking at it, its a Credit Union. I am not aware of any of this type of coverage in Canada, if anyone else is then please let us know!
