we have had no problems with canadian affair, we have used them 4 times, cheap good service, Thomas Cook airlines are the best!, 35 inch seat pitch on all the seats, which suits my husband as he finds all flights a bit of a squeese at 6 ft, food good and films, and CHEAP. Airtransat are ok too you have to watch what day you fly as set days use one or the other. Also you may be lucky and get one than one seat to yourself (sometimes they are hardly full ) my husband had 4 last time he flew back from Pearson slept all the way home!!

Would thoroughly recommend them but as mentioned earlier - they can all have their off days!

There are a few things that you need to be aware of when choosing a seat on Thomas Cook flights.
When I flew home from Calgary, I had chosen a window seat. It turned out that they put the electronics to control the seat back tvs where your foot should go, so you had nowhere to put one foot down!
Secondly, you had to go to the back of the plane and get your own water. That's not easy when you have a window seat with two strangers asleep next to you on an overnight flight.
They are much better than they used to be though. Just after the ban on carrying liquids, my wife flew with them and they were still charging for all drinks, and would only accept payment in sterling. My wife only had dollars, so was expected to travel for 8 hours without liquid
. Luckily, the man next to her bought her a large bottle of water. They now supply free water, and they accept a range of currencies for things you buy.

Monarch flights to the Mediterranean are usually good (in-flight food is better than many rivals) but I didn't know they flew to Canada -- moving into Zoom's old patch, I presume. Canadian Affair flights (Thomas Cook, Air Transat WestJet) are a tight squeeze for the larger passenger but, still, it's better than flying in a vintage Handley Page.
