Moms groups in okotoks

Hi
We have been in Okotoks for 2 weeks now (and loving it:D). My eldest will be starting school by next week and I have a 4 year old.

I will be putting him into pre-school but wondered if anyone knew of any moms groups in okotoks I could go to to meet other moms and their kids.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Nikki

Hi there

Interesting to see you in Okotoks and loving it. We are due in 3 weeks time. My daughter will be at school but I would love to meet up with other newbies to the area.

I am originally from Romford as well - small world:D

PM me for a chat.

Hi Debbie, we will have to organize a coffee morning for all the new to Okotoks ladies when you arrive. I am more than happy to host it and any expat ladies will be more than welcome. Samantha

Thanks Sam

I will hold you to that one, any chance of a muffin as well?

Can't believe just over 3 weeks to go, the stress really kicking in now!

It will be great to get a coffee group together, perhaps we could make it a regular meet for any new ladies to Okotoks. It's hard not to have a Muffin or doughnut with your coffee. Perhaps we could make it the 1st Saturday of the month, I'll start spreading the word this end too.

Mine are 10 & 12, the OH is a big kid though !!!!!!!!!!!

The 12 year old has done the babysitting course too !!!!!!!!!!

I do know some families with younger kids that will come along and I have a few clients in the pipeline with young kids so you will get to meet some great people.

Hello All, i have just found this site and the forum and am amazed that I immidiately found some people who live in Okotoks! We are moving over in 3 weeks time and are getting very excited, although most of my time is currently taken up with packing!

I would love to join you ladies for coffee once we are in situ; we have a 10 year old daughter who no doubt will be eager to make new friends. Hopefully see you all very soon:)

Hi
We are hoping that our son will go to Dr Morris. We are just having trouble finding a rental at the moment and they wont accept him without proof of address as they are so over-subscribed!!

I don't mind at all, it will be great to get something together for the mums. You are all welcome to bring the kids too, it will be nice for them to meet and play together. Perhaps we could have a regular coffee meet for all newcomers past and present and perhaps we can organize an activity for the kids (cinema, ice skating, swimming, adventure walk down by the river??) Let me know what you think ladies.

There's a family I'd like to connect you with here in Okotoks, two boys, 3 and 5, so a close match I think. They've only been here a couple of months. Drop us a PM or email with your email address and I will contact them. They don't use this site much.

Oh and we'll fire up the BBQ too! (And to the Ross Family, as you know, your chap has already sampled the delights of the Alberta Beef here at ours!)

Eamonn.

Have you tried looking at www.rentfaster.ca for rentals? That is where we found ours. (Hope I can put this website address here)

Good luck with the search - lots of people on here will be able to help or you can PM me to ask about our experiences of trying to find rentals.

Welcome to British Expats Rob_and_Dee. Best wishes with your research trip. For us at least, despite some challenges (mainly around missing family and friends and family member illness - better to say that than suggest all is always completely plain sailing), it has worked out well and other than for visits, we are not rushing back to the UK anytime soon. Okotoks is certainly a very family oriented place although Calgary and sourrounds offers many good locations for families.

Hi Rob and Dee

Sounds like there are loads of us descending on Okotoks in the next couple of months so there should be plenty of us to quiz alongside 'oldies' like Eamonn and Sam-in-Okotoks.

Good luck with your recee.

PS. Hope you guys don't mind being called 'oldies':D

Hi Sam,
Thanks for that I am free most of the time we are there, hoping to catch up with Eamonn and Janet before they head back to the UK but after 3rd April I will be free most days for coffee and donuts! Would be lovely to meet up with some people while we are out there so at least we have some contacts should we decide to relocate!
Thanks, Dee
