I hope to move to Vancouver (
if all goes well with the FSW app)
I have been looking at mobile phone contracts on a pre-paid basis for an iPhone (would be bringing over my own unlocked iPhone from the UK), don't want to be tied into a contract straight away until I get employment arranged and then only if contract is the better way to go.
I like the look of what Virgin and Rogers have on offer but was wondering who has the best coverage / mobile signal, if not Rogers or Virgin who would you recommend?
Just thinking of when for example we leave the city to perhaps go skiiing in Whistler and need to call each other on the slopes or perhaps another location out of the city?

Virgin are a Bell subsid now, they use the Bell network.
http://www.speakout7eleven.ca/ seem to offer the best PAYGO sim deal at the moment, I think they use the Rogers network.
AFAIK your network choices in Canada come down to either the Bell or Rogers infrastructure anyway, with Telus as a smaller player, the others just lease network time or whatever.

I am on the other side of Canada in NB so this could be of no use, but Rogers in NB sucks. Their reception is just pants. Can't vouch for how they are over Vancouver way though.
We used to be on Virgin pay as you go and our reception was good.
Recently we signed up for a month to month contract with Koodo.
Their service is through Telus and the reception where we are is good. Even when we get out into the boonies.
All calls are canada wide, so no long distance charges and very reasonable packages. You can also buy just a sim card if you have an unlocked phone.
And you just give a months notice if you want to cancel.
Virgin offer a very similar thing too.
