I just zoom in on the neighbourhood I want to look at. However I realise that does not help someone who doesn't know what areas to look in.
I am not at all impressed with the new MLS website.

A number of enhancements were implemented on the REALTOR.CA web site on Thursday December 4th, 2008. These include:
Introduction of Gallery View display. This will allow users to view up to 12 property photos at a time, covering up the interactive map. The button to use this option will appear at the upper right of the map page , above the existing column showing thumbnail information.
Introduction of Thumbnail View display. This view provides 12 property photos at a time with property description and links to other features such as multimedia. It will also be accessed by a button at the upper right of the map page.
Enhanced positioning for “Save Searchâ€. This is the result of consumer testing done after the launch. The “Save Search†will be moved to the upper left, above the “Refine†column on the map page to make it more evident consumers can save their search criteria, making it easier for returning visitors to search based on their initial criteria. However, this will not appear to those using Safari as an internet browser until further notice.
Technical issues: the enhancements will also fix ongoing issues where some MLS® number searches will not execute.
Browser issues: additional fix will make the site more compatible for users of the browser Firefox Version 3.
