Default mississauga areas

I am hoping to start work in the mississauga oakville area shortly.Dont fancy commuting too far, so looking at settling there,is there any places I should avoid looking at, high crime etc. Any info much appreciated.

That end of town is pretty quiet. There are some not too great areas in Mississauag because it covers such a large area, but there are some decent ones too, although a lot of it tends to be that kind of bland concrete suburbia thing.
Oakville has more character as it's own town, especially near the lake but then it is pretty expensive. The more affordable parts are north of the QEW in the newer housing estates which are less interesting but what you would expect, lots of similar looking largish houses in quite suburban neighbourhood estates. Lots of strip malls and you have to drive everywhere but that goes with the territory.
Depending where you workin Mississauga you could live nearer the city (ie Toronto) and get there with a shortish commute or transit but some areas are a bit out of the way.
There are some other places north of Oakville and Mississauha that are nice as well. Best to go check the area out and see what you like.
