Default Miller : Question for you

Hi Miller,

I sent my PR application to buffalo on April 12th. Now my question is when I'm calculating the points based on new selection system I'm getting 70 points. So whether visa officers will consider my application for further process or will they reject it in the initial stage.

I have BE mechanical engg degree (16 years education). How many points I need to consider for my education.

Thanks in advance

Default Re: Miller : Question for you

A single Bachelor degree with at least 14 years of education gives you 20 points.

If your total score (counting the above 20 points for education) is just 70 points
then your application will be refused, unless processing officer (with the consent of
second officer) finds enough grounds to use the discretionary power to approve it.
Refusal will unlikely happen in your case right after the initial screening stage, so
you may wait quite some time for the decision (depending from the visa office it may
take anywhere from 8 to 30+ months).
