Im currently a serving member of the Royal Air Foce in the UK. I was wondering if anyone knows of any companies in Canada that are looking for ex forces personnel for full time - permenant work with permenant residence etc..

Hi, and welcome to BE.
What kind of work? If you can be a bit more specific then hopefully you might get pointed in the right direction.
You say permanent work with permanent residence, so you already have PR? That will make it easier.
Good luck.

Someone I knew in your situation was inclined towards USA cuz they are more keen on military people for security contracting and and all things invasions. Canada on the other hand is a relatively civilised country.

Can't help I'm afraid, but would also be keen to hear of "military-friendly" employers in Canada as we are awaiting PR which should hopefully be through next yr. OH finishes 24 yr army career in Jan and is not finding the UK employment market overly welcoming to ex-forces at the moment due to the old "lack of commercial experience!"

If you are aviation skilled try IMP in Halifax, lots of ex working there and they were "invited" across because of their skills.
I know they are hiring at the moment.

Depends on your trade, Business don't go out, 'oh lets hire someone from the military' Business look for a trade that is of use to them. My trade got me the jobs I had on leaving, military experience enhanced that significantly.

We live in calgary and have done so for 3 1/2 yrs. My husband is ex RAF he was also in logistics. He was OC supply at Lossie before we moved here. I am sure he will be delighted to chat with you and point you in the right direction. He is now the regional manager for Western Canada for a large transportation company. Send me a private message with your email and I will hook you guys up.
If it helps, we absolutely love it here and wild horses wouldn't drag us back to the UK!
