Default Mid year tax position

We have just started the Parents and Grandparents sponsorship process. We are hoping to land sometime in 2027.

what are the tax implications of moving mid uk tax year? Is it a definite cut off as I land in Canada ?

thanks

You say just started, so just to clarify, your sponsor applied and was given an invitation to sponsor last year? You won't be moving in 2027 if that's right, it's a longer process than that.

But I'm not really sure if you're asking about tax implications in Canada or the UK. For the UK side of things, you'll submit a P85 when you leave which tells HMRC you are no longer tax resident in the UK. You will still be taxed on anything you're liable for in the UK i.e. income from property, but anything else will be taxed in Canada once you're resident there.
