Exactly but as Steve P said check for icicles aswell...Although i would personally knock the icicles off my house anyway...(just incase it fell).

If you can afford an inspection definately get it done but you should be looking for most of what he is going to tell you.

Best thing to do is compare the roof against the neighbouring roofs.

Inspections are not expensive $300 to $500 covers most homes, not getting an inspection though can cost you $$$$$$$$'s if you are unlucky.
