So as to make your lives easier in assessing the circumstance of this inquiry, a brief background is provided in the next 2 paragraphs as your reference.
I am a contract practitioner as a profession. When I applied for PR, I have indicated in the accomplished IM 0008 form that "Purchasing Officer" is the occupation I wish to follow in Canada simply because I have no knowledge of the NOC codes at the time I made my application. Convinced that purchasing is a mirror-image of contracts management made me into deciding to use "Purchasing Officer" as my intended job.
Later on I've stumbled upon the web site of NOC and discovered that "Contract Management Officer" is an alternative occupation under the designation "Purchasing Agents & Officers (NOC Code 1225). Apparently, both disciplines call for the same duties and employment requirements per NOC 2001.
Now, here are my questions:
1) Will it serve a purpose should I write and request the CHC London to also assess my case under the alternative occupation of Contract Management Officer other than the one in my application?
2) Please note that I am listed member of the Purchasing Management Association of Canada (PMAC) - the body governing purchasing & supply management professionals across Canada. Will this fortify my case insofar as my elected occupation to be followed in Canada?
Your immediate response and assistance will be greatly appreciated.

If I read your situation correctly, the two occupations are largely similar.
If you applied recently it will not make much difference, and, if not, it is
still likely that the two NOCs would lead to the same decision.
