hehehe.....My parents are irish/polish catholics, hence I have 4 middle names......

Keep positive thoughts with that good weather - we're back next week for a few days and over to Vancouver, so it would be nice to have sun for those days.....

Merry Xmas all -been quite an eventful year on this forum , again loadsa great info. Thankfully in Ontario we had the exchange of driving licences and also the prospect of insurance rates coming down. House prices are still more reasonable then in the UK (across Canada, not just Ontario) and for Brits coming over the pound still buys a bucketload of dollars. All in all 2005 looks like a good time to move to Canada!

Cheers all.

P.s In the New Year we are expecting our first child so I may be less available on the forum then normal, so don't expect speedy replies to PMs or emails- tho I'll do my best

Merry Xmas everyone and a happy, successful and eventful 2006

Thanks for the chat, banter, trash talk (sometimes) general tips and advice.

Here's to hockey returning in 2006 before all the locals go into deep depression. :p

I can only say one thing ... bah humbug!

This forum is an interesting place to waste time ... for those of us already in Canada, watching wannabe expats plan, research and dream of the new life in Canada that we already have (and sometimes even enjoy) is like a very badly addictive soap opera.

For Christmas I give you all two gifts:

1) For the existing expats: The Gift of Patience with the Wannabes - you aren't a failure, you do actually understand the reality of life in Canada and your thoughts, opinions and ideas are, believe it or not, entirely valid.

2) For the Wannabes: The Gift to Read, Learn and Inwardly Digest - with a few oddities and exceptions, the expats posting on this forum want to make the transition to Canada easier for you that we had it. Bear in mind that there are a large number of parties out there (realtors, job agencies, the Canadian government, immigration consultants, etc) who will paint a far rosier picture of life in Canada. Learn to discern the truth, life over here will be easier.

A very Happy Christmas and a most prosperous New Year to you all!!

Merry xmas everyone! Hopefully we've just had a taste of xmas in Canada. We've just had a downfall of snow, a white xmas in Manchester at about 5.45pm! Wonderful, just had snow fights. Hope it's a sign of things to come

All the best to you all

Sue x :D

Thanks for the many seasons greetings. Its too bloody cold for snowball fights here! Besides, after the rain and the flash freeze, most of the "snow" has frozen as solid ice:(

Time to find a nice drink, and try and recover in some peace and quite..it was a riot today:)

Looks like good toboganning weather to me ... about time too!

Toboganning isn't just for kids ... go try it, it's fun ... it's only -17C out there.

We've had lots and lots of snow in the KW area as well. Have taken the kids toboganning or skating almost every day. Only getto do it once a year, and it is so much fun, that I hurt all the tendons on my side yesterday....
