Well, now that we've been here two weeks and we're feeling a bit more settled and a bit less like headless chickens we're thinking of socialising a bit. I was wondering if Edmonton (and surrounding area) people might be interested in meeting up?

Maybe the weekend of 28/29 July? Open to suggestions for location and time.

There is also a newcomers club for expats in Edmonton..they meet up once a month and have social events too.

You're welcome, although i'm a member I don't go to any meet ups etc because techincally (oh all right then definitely) I live an hour and a half from there - so travel times dictate it would be pointless.

They do seem like a really good bunch though so I'd reccomend it highly - super helpful

I thought they were to busy getting lost in the WEM or bitching about how they should never have sold Gretzky and how many Stanley cups they could have won and how they are misunderstood by those folk in Calgary.Is it safe to venture south of Red Deer and why cant they have an International airport in the city instead of Leduc, but calling it Edmonton International airport or complaining about the line ups for kebabs on Whyte Ave on the weekends.
