Default mechanic on the move...hopefully

hi,

I'm a car mechanic looking to move to Canada, but I'm really not sure where to start!! I've read so many different things about the process and i just seem to be going round in circles. just wondering if there is anyone who is a mechanic and moved to Canada can give me some advice on where to start

if it makes any difference I'm 33, married with 2 children

thanks in advance

Hi, welcome back to BE.

The first step will need to be a visa, so have a look at the CIC website and see what route, if any, you think you might be eligible for. You can then ask any questions about it in the immi section of the forum, there are lots of folks to help you with it.

I believe that yours is also a regulated trade, so you'll need to get licensed to work in Canada, maybe have another read of your last thread as that had some good links in.

HTH a bit, best of luck.

No worries! I'd assume that they will still be relevant, but do just check that the rules in them haven't been superseded by anything new.

Unfortunately the whole visa system has changed, so you'll need to start from scratch on that.

Good luck.
