Both heard coming out of my Scottish father in law's mouth who is here to visit, to my Canadian landlord!
Comedy gold!
- Canada is a bit like America innit?
- Would you like to be an American?

My FiL went off on a big rant about the French & Germans being lazy to our Canadian host, who went on to say his Mum was French and his Dad German....

Love it! Don't forget it works both ways so try and get him to ask an American if they're Canadian just for pure comedy value.............

My mum prattled on about the peculiarities of Canadians. "Them", "they do this", they do that". Trouble was she was talking to a Canadian friend of mine who gently pointed out that she was one of them, and agreed that some ways of doing things were pretty odd.

Canadians are most offended by anybody who stands up and complains about anything. I don't mean generalised complaints about the cold or the traffic or anything that might be construed as a whinge about the country by ungrateful immigrants. It's the personal complaints that Canadians somehow seem to think violate their image as nice, peaceful folks. Try telling a queue jumper to get back to his place in the line and not only will you get no support but you'll be told to shh. Vile behaviour is supposed to be "part of living" and there's something very wrong with you if you refuse to put up with it. Needless to say, I am very offensive.

I'd suggest this edit:

Besides if you want to offend a Canadian just ask them what part of Newfoundland they come from. Dont ask a Newfie though what part of Ireland they come from that 'll just get you into a fight.
