Errr... help me out here! What on earth is tapping?

I've tapped sugar maples for sap but I'm having a difficult time trying to visualize doing the same to a jars of marmite and vegemite, so I'm thinking it means something different! :D

BTW - I'd be happy to sent the marmite. I've two jars if your really want them.

Marmite tapping is the art of tapping marmite until it turns white. Place a blob on a plate, take a knife and keep taping it and it will go from black to white. A seriously sad pass-time but may be considered by some to be more fun than sitting in a traffic jam on bank holiday. :p

Does it still taste the same?

To be honest I have never tried eating it after tapping it. In fact I only tried tapping it once.

Today I discovered where it is in the local "Save On" store. It is with the jam and peanut butter.
