Marmite

I got myself a jar of Marmite yesterday ... 125g for $3-98 ... don't know how that compares ... made in England, so it's the "real" stuff.

The kids used to eat it on toast when they were little ... let them sniff it last night and I got a "blech!!" from both of them :(

Looks like I'll be eating it all by myself

You've just dissed some of my favorite foods!!

Eggs ... be they scrambled, fried, everything except boiled, have to be eaten with brown sauce.

Ever tried a toasted fruit bun (a hot cross bun will do) with a sausage and brown sauce ... mmmmmm, yummy :D

And also has many uses.

A good hangover preventor/cure (loads of B12). I used to have a fingerful of it before going to bed after a night on the razz and can recommend it.

And the mozzies apparently don't like B12 in the blood either.

I have to admit that is one British food that I've really come to enjoy. It was a gradual process though, starting with Twiglets about 3 years ago. On my trip back to Victoria, that is the one British food I looked for in the local shops. To Willmore - it's available in the Fairfield Thirfties if you want a truly odd culinary experience :D.

!! Eye opening moment there (for me)! I had never considered that - that the crosses had to be put on hot cross buns... by someone! The things I take for granted :) Good thing you didn't stick with it as a career as hot cross buns are usually only available around Easter in Canada (at least the west coast) so it would have been only seasonal employment for you :D.

As it advertises itself back home.

You either love it or you hate it!

Very intricate, complex, skilled, and bloody hot job.

Haven't really got the time to go into it. ;)
