Hello everyone

I hope someone could help me out. My husband currently works as an accountant for manufacturing companies. We are going to start looking for work around the Halifax area. I have been looking for a list of manufacturing companies within the area to target his resume with at some point in the future. Does anyone know where I can get a list of manufacturing companies for the Halifax area. He specialises in food so this would be ideal business to work for but he could work for other manufacturing companies. I already know McCain are in the area.

Best job website for Atlantic Canada is www.careerbeacon.com so check that out. Also try Robertson Surrette as the leading recruitment consultants in the area, they have a website too if you google it. Food processing business in the area include McCains (actually in NB) plus some dairy stuff too I think. The other sector that was big was seafood but as I know to my cost thats a really tough industry. (I was made redundant by a seafood company in NL prior to Christmas.) You might try Clearwater Seafoods (www.clearwater.ca) who are based in Bedford NS. For a list of businesses in the Halifax area check out the chamber of commerce website http://www.halifaxchamber.com/ . One potential employer might be IMP group who own a bunch of businesses from an airline through to a fish processing business. www.impgroup.com

Best bet is to try the Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters (CME)

Look into the Provincial search.

They are very helpful and can certainly point you in the right direction.

Thanks for the responses. I will check the websites out. I want to be organised before we start sending out our resumes. I have an exam to sit yet before I can start applying for my town planning jobs.
